Villa de Leyva

North of Bogota is one of the prettiest villages in Colombia – Villa de Leyva. The settlement has 17,000 inhabitants and is characterized by numerous buildings from its colonial history. On the cobbled streets you can feel transported back in time. The town was listed as a historical monument in 1954 and remains an architectural unit to this day.

There are several small museums housed in old colonial buildings. The village has 4 churches, two of which are still used for worship. The hills in the area invite to walks and in the vicinity are also interesting destinations.
